FAQs & Policies
Welcome to our FAQ and Policies page. Here, we aim to answer common questions about day-to-day life at The Lodge and share the key policies that guide our supportive, SEND centred learning environment.
How are sessions structured?
Do learners remain on roll with their school?
Sessions are delivered on a personalised one to one basis and are tailored to each young person’s needs, interests and learning goals. There is no one size fits all approach. Activities are adapted to support confidence, engagement and positive learning experience.
Yes. Learners remain on the roll of their main school or educational setting while attending at The Lodge as part of an agreed package of support.
Is The Lodge a school?
What learning opportunities do you offer?
No. The Lodge is not a school. We provide part time one to one  learning sessions that complement a young person’s existing education arrangements.
Learning opportunities are tailored to each young parson’s interests, strengths and  goals. Sessions may include creative arts, practical projects, vocational learning , cooking, gardening, life kills and opportunities to develop maths and English through meaningful activities..
What happens if a session needs to be cancelled or rescheduled?
How do we get started with The Lodge?
We understand that circumstances can change. We work closely with families, schools and professionals to manage changes wherever possible while maintaining consistency and support for the young person.
We begin with an initial conversation to understand the young person’s needs, interest and current education situation. If The Lodge appears to be suitable fit, sessions can then be planned in collaboration with parents, schools and other professionals where appropriate.Â
Who do you work with?
How many learners attend at one time?
We work with young people aged 11 to 18 Â who may benefit from a smaller, calmer learning environment. Many learners we support have SEND, SEMH needs, anxiety, sensory differences or have found it difficult to fully engage with learning within traditional educational setting.
The Lodge is designed to provide a calm, and supportive environment. Sessions are delivered on a personalised one to one basis and learner numbers are intentionally kept low. No more than four learners are on site at any one time, helping. This helps create a calm, welcoming atmosphere that supports confidence, emotional wellbeing and engagement.
Policies & Documents
We maintain a range of policies to ensure a safe, supportive, and transparent environment for all our learners, families, and staff. Additional policies and operational procedures, including Health and Safety, First Aid and Fire Safety documentation are available on request.
